Brows and Brazilians - How to Cut Your Time In HALF!

When we talk about brows and Brazilians, the #1 pressure point EVERYONE struggles with is how to increase their speed when performing these services.

So how long should it take to perform brow and/or Brazilian services? What's included in that allotted time? AND how do we become faster?

So many great questions. Following are my time tested methods for ticking all the boxes and getting clients in and out in a jiffy.

It's important to note, we want to do all of these things AND at the same time make the client feel comfortable and provide a stellar hair removal service, providing quality every step of the way. No "wham bam thank you ma'am" services here.

How long each service should take depends on the skill level and training of the technician.

THE BROWS or BRAZILIAN:

The Beginner who's just winging it:  20 minutes. That sounds like an impressive time for a beginner with no training, and if you're just looking at the time, it is. When you're a "winger" most of your time is spent freaking out because you have no idea where to start or what to do.

Therefore, all you're able to do, without having a massive panic attack is randomly apply and remove the wax in the areas that frighten you the least.  This makes both you and your client feel as if you're doing something. The results however will tell the truth.

It's great to shoot for being fast, but it's even better to shoot for fast AND  proficient, while keeping the client comfortable AND achieving a great hair removal result.

Beginner with advanced training:  30-90 minutes. Why so long?  Aren't we trying to be faster not slower? Yes, and advanced training is the best way to cut your time in half.

Instead of randomly applying and removing wax with no real plan, a trained professional will have a plan. They will take their time as they learn to follow each step with accuracy and care to deliver the best service on all levels.

With time and practice the duration to complete the service will be cut to 15-30 minutes.

You may be wondering, "How much practice until I am able to cut my time in half?"

GREAT QUESTION!

Everyone is different so that time will vary. It may take a few weeks or a few months. The key is to be patient with yourself. You're not just applying and removing wax. You're learning HOW to apply and remove the wax for the client's comfort and best hair removal results. You're memorizing ALL of the steps from start to finish so they become second nature. Soon, you won't have to think about what to do next, or wonder where the next strip of wax should be placed, you'll just KNOW.

THAT IS THE SECRET TO BEING SPEEDY!

Learning the right technique and practicing it until it becomes second nature. It's about creating a routine and following that same routine every time.

Take your morning routine. We all have one. And we move effortlessly through it, without even thinking about it, in an almost trance-like state. AND when we get distracted and miss a step, we feel off for the rest of the day.

Waxing is all about creating that trance-like state so we can move through the steps without thinking about it.
